Allegro Extract SYM_NAME

Hi,

I am  trying to extract from Allegro the component pictures. I am extracting the SYM_NAME, but I wonder if this name is unique across all symbols. In other words, if 2 components are refering to the same symbol name, does it mean they have the same picture? or each component has his own symbol?

    So, SYM_NAME is the name of the symbol that components refer to. So we can have components U1, U3, and U5 referencing SYM_NAME SOIC14 (as u just said).

    But, isn't SYM_X and SYM_Y also related to the symbol? How come the extract shows something like the following:

    REFDES    SYM_NAME       SYM_X       SYM_Y
    U1              SOIC14               100             100
    U3              SOIC14               200             200

    Shouldn't SYM_X and SYM_Y be the same all the time since they are for the same symbol SOIC14?
