Error while simulating

 Hi,

I am new with ORCAD and its family of products. I was trying to build a Full Adder circuit and the netslist is created fine but when I try to run it using PSpice, i get the following errors:

**** RESUMING TRAN.cir ****
.END

ERROR -- Model Q2N2222 used by Q_Q1 is undefined
ERROR -- Model IO_STM used by U_DSTM1 is undefined
ERROR -- Model IO_STM used by U_DSTM2 is undefined
ERROR -- Model IO_STM used by U_DSTM3 is undefined
ERROR -- Subcircuit 7408 used by X_HD_A1_U1A is undefined
ERROR -- Subcircuit 7408 used by X_HD_A1_U1B is undefined
ERROR -- Subcircuit 7408 used by X_HD_A1_U1C is undefined
ERROR -- Subcircuit 7404 used by X_HD_A1_U2A is undefined
ERROR -- Subcircuit 7404 used by X_HD_A1_U2B is undefined

ERROR -- Subcircuit 7432 used by X_HD_B1_U3A is undefined
ERROR -- Subcircuit 7432 used by X_U1A is undefined

I double checked the path and I cannot figure out the reason on how to fix the errors. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

JETEE

Looks like you are using "standard" parts from the libraries in the installation, so you probably don't have a reference to "nom.lib", this would normally be configured during installation. Open the design, go to PSpice>Edit Simulation Profile, Configuration Files tab, pick "library" at the top left of the form, browse to the "nom.lib" in the installation, this would be under the "tools\pspice\library" directory, and pick the "add as Global" button on the right. Also check that the library path at the bottom of the form references the "pspice library" directory previously mentioned.

The problem is here is that the hierarhical blocks in the Full Adder circuit do not have properties required by PSpice to generate a spice netlist.  The three required properties are PSpiceModel, Implementation, and Implementation Type.  Use the schematics in <install_dir>\tools\pspice\capture_samples folder.

Thanks a lot. Making nom.lib as a global did resolve the issue. Have a good day.

     Hi,

I am facing the same error in simulation -

    .END

ERROR(ORPSIM-15113): Model Q2N2222 used by Q_Q3 is undefined

My circuit is a simple tutorial example, where I am using AC sweep to study frequency analysis of transistor.

I included the nomd.lib file (yes mine has a 'd' in it, there was no file with name nom.lib in my directory) and did all the other steps, still the same error, please help !!

    Thank you,

    Rochak
