DEHDL - new windows mode problem

Hi,

I'm experiencing a strange problem on WinXp platform when using DEHDL 16.2 with the new Windows mode (Tools->Options, then Enable Pre-Select Mode and Enable Windows Mode).  My DE-HDL version is 16.2-S010 4/20/2009.

When I select a user-added property, such as a signal name or a property attached to the component like ROOM=ABC, and then do RMB->Cut on the property,  DEHDL crashes.  This does not happen when I don't use the new Windows mode.

I'm trying to troubleshoot the problem to see if it is related to my computer/environment or the tool.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Whatever else you find, you need to get this issue reported to Cadence for investigation.

     Hi summer07,

Good catch - I see the same thing. The property disappears for a second and then DEHDL crashes. I am also using WinXP with the 011 ISR installed. Not to usurp you, but I sumitted as SR to get this into their system ASAP. I have referenced you and this thread.

    Hi EvanShultz,

I'm glad to know it's not just me!

I also just got done reproducing this problem using SpaceCruiser on their computer - usually once they can reproduce the problem on their end, they can fix it pretty quickly so hopefully this is the case. I'm sure your SR will help. Thanks!

    Hi summer07,

Yep, reproduced at Cadence with my SR as well. The fix is to remove the $HOME\cdssetup\concept folder - my folder was empty but still caused the problem so you need to actually delete the folder. You may need this folder in your specific circumstance, but I don't since I set up everything at the site level. See if removing this folder restores normal operation.

    Hi EvanShultz,

I already tried removing the entire $HOME\cdssetup but still get the crash so something else is still going on.

I also setup everything at the site level but as soon as someone does any customization (i.e. Tools->Customize->Toolbars->Add a tool bar) then the tool auto-populates the $HOME\cdssetup\concept folder with menu files anyway.
