¿how can i print the artworks? (the final step to make a board)

hi, i'm having trouble to make the final transparent films for making the boards. i've tryed to do it two different ways. First i've tryed with the plot option in the file menu, but it doesn't work because both layers (top and bottom) are plotted. then i've tryed with the artwork option in the manufacture menu. i've created the artwork for the top layer, but now i don't know how to plot it. Once created I've tryed to import it to my original design but both (the original and the artwork design) were in the same page. so i'd like to know how to do for printing the artwork after it's created.

Normally you would use the artwork function to create files that are then sent to the fabricator along with your fabrication drawing, and they would use these to create the board. Since you want to make prints, you can use the plot function, but be aware that scalling on a printer is not linear. You cannot make an exact 1:1 print.

The plot function will only print what is visible on the screen. Zoom fit (F9), and use the color dialog to turn on only the items you want to see on the print. You will have to repeat this for each layer, drawing, silk screen, mask and paste.

We use the Plot command to make photomasks on laser and inkjet printers, although I wouldn't try this for a large board or one with very finely spaced pins. For step-by-step instructions go to my web page of orcad tutorials at <http://userweb.elec.gla.ac.uk/j/jdavies/orcad/>, download pcbdesigner.pdf and look at section 6.1. I think this should be just what you want. Later sections show how to print the gerber file if you prefer to take that route.

    Good luck, John Davies
