Need Help with PCB SI

archive
archive over 16 years ago

 Hi,

I have used HyperLynx in the past to do SI. Now I have to use PCB SI. My flow with HyperLynx was to read in the design then run a batch mode simulation. Based on the results from the batch mode then I would pick a net at a time and run detailed analysis. Is there a feature like that in PCB SI where I can run a batch simulation that will do Reflection and Crosstalk on the entire design.

Thank You

Sudhir

     Hi Sudhir,

    Not exactly.

You can use constraint manager though, set up your crosstalk, reflection criteria as constraints in a EC Set then apply that ECet to the nets that you are concerned about. CM will then do all the simulations and highlight red the nets that fail your constraints. If you want to look at waveforem on these, you will have to simulate each individually.

     Hope that helps,

    Hi Sudhir,

What license do you have? There are both interactive and a batch command options available depending on what you have.

     Regards,

    Hi Dennis

We have PCB SI L. If I have PCB SI L what is my flow. The tutorial talks about Allegro PCB  Editor which I cannot open. Which tool do I use to open the .brd file ?

    Thank You

Hate to keep peppering you with questions - but what release are we talking ?

You should be able to open the .brd file with PCB SI from the start menu or try "allegro -sq" from the command line. The tutorial is out dated and refers to a time when the "L" version only contained SigXplorer.
