Importing new schematic changes removed componets and moved RF traces.

I made several changes to a schematic then imported it with the following  imported > logic > place changed componet "yes" if symbol.  I ended up with many componets missing and traces moved.  I then tried export > placement import logic then import placement.  It had no effect.  Can someone tell me the right way to import changes without having items moved?  I am using 16.2.

Many thanks Redwire.   Can you tell me if renaming footprints could cause part to move to "unplaced"?
