PDF output

Hi All,

I just installed release 16.5. I'm working ith PCB Editor, trying to create searchable PDFs of the top and bottom layers. I click on  File/Export/PDF... to bring up the PDF publisher screen. I can check the box for the top film and create a searchable PDF. All is good. Same for the bottom, but I would like to mirror the bottom so it looks like the real pcb. I don't see a "mirror" check box. I tried everything I can think of, but still no mirror. Is there a way to mirror the bottom film in pdf format? TIA

    Hi Bob,

I have been beating up the PDF Export for a little while now I have to admit I never thought about a mirrored PDF file (makes sense for bottom assembly views).

My first idea was to go into the Film Record and click the “Film Mirrored” option which one would think the resulting PDF file would be mirrored – No dice, enabling the “Film Mirrored” option for the Film Record had no effect probably because the film records are only used to determine which layers to display in the PDF. I also notice that the wrong reading text (mirrored) comes out right reading (not mirrored) in the PDF file.

Overall I think the PDF Export is a great addition to Allegro but with any new functionality there is always some kinks to work out.

Let see if anyone else has any ideas on how to mirror the PDF output in 16.5 – if not it sounds like a great enhancement request.

    Hope this helps,
