Orcad 16.5 Light Full Demo Installation

dumbfounded
dumbfounded over 13 years ago

I just downloaded the demo software (Orcad Lite-Full Demo) and cannot get through the install process. When I get to the screen where you select the install type (myself or all users of this computer), I selected, the recommended, myself only option, but after doing that the "next" button remains in the "greyed-out" state, not allowing a selection. There is no antivirus software running, the machine is running Windows XP SP3.

I have now tried several times, trying both options, rebooting the computer, still cannot get beyond this screen.

Any suggestions? Thanks

    Please make sure that following registries exists on your system:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]

    "RegisteredOrganization"="<Company Name>"

    "RegisteredOwner"="<Owner’s Name>"

    Please fill the name of company and owner if these are blank.

    Try running installation after that and see if that help.

    Where do I put this? Is there a registry file somewhere in the install directory? Do I have to edit a Windows system file?

    You need to edit Windows Registry file for this. This information is put while installing the OS. You can find the exact steps by simply doing a search on web. Here is one such link http://www.pctips3000.com/how-to-change-registered-organization-name-in-windows-7/

    Ok - I checked into this and it is set to my company's name: DanaherTM. the user name is also DanaherTM. I did not change it and the install still fails. Any other ideas? I have a few days of free time and wanted to evaluate this software...
