Add positioning hole to symbol - Allegro/PCB Editor

Hi all,

I'm creating a footprint for a Camera Link connector (26 pin 3M MDR connector); I need to add some mounting and positioning holes. Should I define them as 'pins' and leave them as unplated drill holes? I'm sure there's a better way.

Thanks,

-Travis

Define them as Mechanical Pins in the symbol since these will not be connected in the netlist. Design the Padstacks in the Pad Designer, use rectangular for the "lockposts", plated or non-plated set in the Pad Designer, as required. For the locating pins, just specify a "small" regular pad to locate the drill centre that will be drilled away, leaving just the hole. Place these padstacks in the symbol with Layout>Pins, set the Type to Mechanical, no Pin Number, before placing them.
