wiring on a defined plane ***help***

OK, I know I've done this before, but I don't remember the setup:

I want to have a dynamic plane (like VCC) to contain wiring of other nets. So, when I start the wiring, the "shape" will create the "shape to line spacing" I setup in constraint manager.   (kinda like auto voiding)

Right now, I am getting drc errors and the "voiding" is not happening even though the drc says the contsraint should be 10 mil, I am getting 0 mil

Is the shape you've drawn dynamic or static ? If it's static it will not auto void and tracks you draw. Try Shape - Change shape type, then look to the Options menu and make sure the type is set to Dynamic copper then lmb the shape.

Yes, it is a dynamic plane.  I made sure of that first.  I don't know why (unless it is a bug in 16.0) why it "sometimes" works.

I wonder if there is something "odd" like, for instance, the plane can only be defined as a rectangle vs polygon, etc?  Or defined in the stackup as positive plane vs negative?  I think I've tried all the options.......  any other ideas?

BTW, using Allegro PCB Design XL tool

Display - Status are the shapes up to date ? Is it a Positive layer (check Cross Section). Check Shape Params. What version of 16.0 (really old....) are you using ? Are you running the last hotfix that was issued for 16.0 ?

Yes, shapes up to date. Plane set as negative layer. Properties I set to no rat.

I am using 16.0 with no hotfix (I have a customer who has 15.7 and doesn't want anything higher than the original 16.0)

Sounds like you are trying to put a positive plane and routing on a negative layer. Pretty sure you can't do that. In the cross section uncheck the "negative artwork" for that layer.
