Is there a way to use measure to measure from two points selected by the current cursor location ? For example measuring the size of a pad or anti pad opening ?

This is for 16.6....if using the measuring tool and RMB doesn't give the options you want...one other way is go into the FIND and turn off all the options..."All Off"....then set the grid to a small enough setting and now you can pretty much click and measure. Its not going to as accurate as using the RMB options but for some stuff I've done for a quick check its good enough.

There are options for RMB Pad Edge which should give you what you want. The key here is to turn off all items in the Find Filter and then hover over the edge of the pad and use RMB - Snap Pick to - Pad Edge....

    Thank You!!

Was wondering what I was doing wrong.  Understanding the command syntax is key.

I was doing the snap to pad edge but then I was left clicking close to the pad edge expecting it to snap.

So the right mouse button snap is the command execute.
