Synchronisation lost between Capture (schematic) and Allegro PCB (16.6)

Hello,

I am facing an issue where parts selected in the Allegro PCB editor doe not get highlighted in the schematic and vise versa.

Also, when in manual placement mode when selecting group of parts to be placed in the PCB this is not happening unlike in the past.

I have generated the netlist as usual via the netlist button and then imported in Allegro.

Please advice.

Thanks,

Nik

    Hi Nik,

In the PCB.Editor under the pull down menu, Setup/ User Preferences/ Logic/ schematic_editor preference settings set to point to the schematic tool you are using. If not set.

    I hope that help you.

    Hi Dale,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have tried your fix , capture was net selected, but unfortunately no change.

I still cannot synchronise pcb and schematic, I am clicking on a component in pcb and is not highlighted in schematic.

    Any other suggestions?

    Regards,
    Nik

Is ITC enabled inside OrCAD Capture. Go to Options - Preferences - Miscellaneous and make sure Intertool communication is checked, then re-create the netlist and import it into Allegro. If that still fails look in Allegro at Setup - User Preferences - ui - xprobe and make sure there is no value set for allegro_no_xprobe.

OK when you select a part in Capture do you see any messages on the command line in Allegro? If you do fix the issues. If not make sure you are running the latest version of the software. 16.6-2015 S088 or 17.2-2016 S015 on the Help - About menu in Allegro. If not log into support.cadence.com and get the latest versions. Then try again.
