NCroute file doesn't lineup properly with artwork and drl files

Hi,

I tried to generate the ncroute in the manufacturing to get the details of the rectangular slots in my board design. Unfortunately when viewed in the gerber viewer it was not matching the excellon format and rectified it later though the ncroute files doesn't lineup properly with the artwork as well as the drl file.

Please give any alternate suggestions to make sure it doesn't go mismatch with the artwork.

Regards,

Mukilan P

It more than likely the gerber viewer you are using. Make sure when you import the ncroute or ncdrill files the format is set correctly. If you use 2:4 when you make the drill data set it when you import. This is always an issue if you use GC Prevue for example.

Thanks Steve, so what is your suggestion for excellon format value to make sure there is no improper lineup in the artwork and the drill data as well as the gerber viewer, I am using the pentalogix Viewmate tool, it would be great if you suggest any other gerber viewer with higher user interactive.

It's not down to format - just make sure this matches the board data - it's down to the import into the gerber viewer. When you generate the NC Drill though always enable Auto Tool Select and Enhanced Excellon format. that may also help.
