Hotfix S049 SHIFT arrow keys moving symbol by grid settings.

It seems that any of the arrow combinations with the shift key no longer move the symbol by the grid settings. Anyone else see this ?

Lennie in HF049 they are broken. The issue I found is that it is related to a UI setting. I had reported a few days ago a problem with hot keys. Steve had the fix..

    try the following.

Go into your user preferences. Under UI > General > "Un check enable command window history" Not sure if you are on HF049 but I confirmed that on HF049 and if that UI preference is enabled then the arrow keys wont work.

Thanks that fixed that problem. Now if I can get the full cursor disappearing during the drag operation and the focus to change from the options screen back to the canvas correctly like it used to work I would be happy.

No. All these items have to do with 17.2. They all worked fine with 16.6.  They fixed some of keyboard / focus problems from a CCR that I created  early on but not all of them. The latest Hot fix broke them again.

Lennie on the cursor, I did a re-install recently. The FSC cursor was broken in S038 or before it. SO38 was the oldest SP I had to hand. As a matter of interest, do you like that the side menus no longer slide out as they did in 16x ?. I kind of liked how they auto collapsed to free up screen real-estate while editing. Operations seem quicker to me in 16x with the auto slide out Options, View panel etc.

It was broken in the first version of 17.2 . I use the mouse and keyboard more than the side menus. Just old school and it works much faster to have my right hand on the keyboard to zoom in / out and the arrows to move left right / up / down and center mouse buttom to scroll up and down. I am sure there are other ways to do that but that is what I have been using since the Pads days and works for me . I never liked the mouse zoom in/out button.

The one item I still have not found is to be able to use the arrow keys to move the cursor by the current grid setting. It is difficult to move symbols by the mouse button. I know about the shift arrow but the full curcor does not work with that and the grid numbers do not change.
