Problem with "cross-section" command

Hi All,

I am an Allegro PCB beginner and I am working now on a new layout (version 16.6).

After defining the stack up at the beginning of the layout, placing all the parts and routes, I wanted to remove 1 layer.

For that, I've tried to enter the Xsection area, but when pushing the button, nothing happens: in the commands window the following is shown:

Loading cmds.cxt
Loading floor.cxt
Loading skillExt.cxt
Loading axlcore.cxt

Command >

However the expected cross section window is not coming up.

I'm working with 2 screens, tried to look for it at both.

Thanks.

    Hi KobiC,

Open xsection right click on the layer u want to delete and select remove layer,

Note: ensure no data in the layer selected.

    Regards,

    Ummer

Close Allegro, go to your HOME directory, type %HOME% into the address bar of Windows Explorer followed by a return, then descend into the pcbenv folder and delete the allegro.geo file. Then try again.

    Hi Steve,

I'm not sure I understood your meaning by "type %HOME% into the address bar of Windows Explorer followed by a return", what does it suppose to do?

    Hi Ummer,

The original problem is that I can't open this xsection window.

%HOME% is your home directory, go to pcbenv folder and delete allegro.geo file.
