Capacitive Touch Button

Hi all,

I am trying to make a footprint for a simple capacitive touch button with a via pin. I made a circular shape on the top plane and added the pin but I am getting DRC error: thru pin to shape spacing.

I tried editing the constraint value to 0, and also tried a connector with a via instead, but I need the via to be my pin and I can't get rid of the DRC error.

Can someone please help me out?

Lots of solutions here but I would rather answer with a question.  Why not make the top layer a large circle with an offset?

Are you suggesting a circular shape with an offset? I get DRC errors even if I change the offset of the shape. It is possible with a circle, but then how would I fill it with copper? I'm sorry. I'm very new at OrCAD.

You'll need use the padstack manager and import a custom shape on the top layer

I created a custom shape with an offset, and imported it to the padstack manager. I am then adding this padstack as a pin in pcb editor with a via connection. I am not getting a DRC error anymore, but the via connection is at the center of the circle, not at the offset I specified when I created the shape.

Post a screenshot from the padstack manager....it's gotta be something simple in the setup.
