Package Drawing Padstack Path

Hello all,

I had an issue one time where I changed the directory of a padstack that was already attached to a pin in a package drawing. When the symbol was added to the board, there was a message that it cannot find the padstack. Is there anyway of making the Properties attached to Padstack: LIBRARY_PATH to be relative? Here is an image to illustrate what I am talking about:

I guess this would be good to know if you want to share drawing symbols.

No because this is only information. This value gets set when the Package Symbol gets placed in the board and PCB Editor reads in the Padstack from the folders specified in the "padpath" User Preference during that process. If you get a message about the Padstack not being found, PCB Editor failed to locate the required Padstack from the folders specified in the "padpath" User Preference. The netlist import checks that the required Symbols and any associated Padstacks can be found on the respective "padpath" and "psmpath" folder settings but doesn't actually transfer the Symbols and Padstacks to the board until a Symbol gets placed.

    Hi oldmouldy,

This information you gave is correct. I made some tests to verify. I guess when I moved it originally, I did not change the paths. Thanks for the information.

P.S Do you have any insight on this subject: https://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/pcb-design/42893/pad-editor-what-is-the-purpose-difference-between-mechanical-hole-tooling-hole-and-mounting-hole I would ask you directly but this forum does not apparently allow private messages.
