Sigrity Aurora Create Pin Pairs Greyed out

Hi Everyone,

I am in the middle of learning Sigrity Aurora through an online course and have come across a problem which has brought me to a halt. I am trying to add constraints to an ECSET but it is greyed out.

I am clicking setup>constraints>electrical, right clicking on the net and select Explore Topology which then opens the topology explorer, select the ECSet tab, click Set Topology Constraints, click the green + symbol beside Impedance and when the Create Pin Pair - Impedance window opens it's greyed out.

Any ideas or help on what is causing this and more importantly how to get this sorted is much appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

    Hi Don,

May I know which Aurora version you're using? You can check the version by selecting Help>About from menu.

In 'Create Pin Paid- Impedance' window, you need to select the pin pairs by using ctrl button from the list of components and click 'Create' to add them as a diff pair. Next, add Target Impedance and Tolerance values.

Is this what you're trying to achieve?

    Thanks,

    Shiva Shankar M

Hi Shiva, thanks for the reply,

I am using v23.1. I can see the same window you have in your image but the problem is I cannot select anything as the window is greyed out and things can not be selected. I thought it could be a lock file causing this but I have deleted any lock files I could find and then try again with restarting the software but still having the same issue. I will go back and see if I'm doing anything wrong since I'm in the middle of learning about Sigrity Aurora. If you have any other suggestions to try would be great,

    Thanks,

    Don.

    Hi Don,

Have you tried the Aurora tutorial steps in other machine and got any success? Similarly, you can try the same steps on other net topology and see if the issue happens for every net OR only for this particular net.

There are several hotfixes available within v23.1 Aurora so It would be great if you can confirm the exact hotfix release number. You can check that by selecting Help>About from within Aurora.

    Thanks,

    Shiva Shankar M

Hi Shiva, thanks for your messages and help with this. I am still having the same problem unfortunately. I have tried different nets and it's still the same.

Here is the version I am using:

    23.1-2023 S010 [4/17/2025] Windows SPB 64-bit Edition

    Thanks Shiva,

    Don.
