Wavescan trace display issue

Hello,

I am facing a problem during plot of each output on wavescan. The wavescan should automatically assign colours to each trace(to differentiate between traces), but actually the traces are always plotted as white in colour. After which I have to assign colour manually by right clicking on trace properties and assign a colour (which works but if I replace the plots, the traces return to white colour which are really confusing for multiple traces).I am using IC6.1.5.72. Is this a software issue or related to the hardware?

Regards

Sohaib

wavescan? Do you really mean wavescan or ViVA? If you're using wavescan (what does it say in the banner of the tool), maybe you're not actually using IC615.

I've not seen the behaviour you describe either way...

I would suggest trying a more recent hotfix (the latest, ideally), and if the problem persists, contact customer support.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Yes sorry my fault. It is VIVA. Okay I will install the recent hotfixes. Another question, it is off-topic but as the issues of hotfixes came up, when is Cadence IC 6.1.5 expected to operate on RHEL6? As most of the latest PC systems are not fully compatible with RHEL5, so it gives a lot of driver etc issues as well.

    Regards

IC615 is supported on RHEL6 from IC615 ISR12. See solution 11816774 for more details - essentially it was working fine prior to ISR12, except when running in 64 bit mode. Because of this it was not "supported" until those issues had been resolved, which they now have. ISR12 is the latest hotfix available from http://downloads.cadence.com

    Regards,

    Andrew.

When we installed IC 6.1.5 on RHEL6 , the IC.6.1.5.72 was running in 64-bit mode, but spectre wasn't able to run. After intializing the simulation on ADE-L , the virtuoso would crash indicating some files missing in the Cadence spectre that supports RHEL6. When we checked the configuration patches of the Cadence, it showed that spectre does not support RHEL6 , although MMSIM did.

I don't understand what you mean that "spectre does not support RHEL6, although MMSIM did". spectre is included in the MMSIM streams, and (at least the current releases) support RHEL6. I've been running on RHEL6 myself for a while now, with no problems with the simulator itself.

Perhaps you were picking up some really old version of spectre?

    Andrew.

MMSIM 11.1 was being supported because Cadence 5.1.6 check configuration showed that it was supported, hence I don't think spectre is old. When we used the checkSysConf , it shows an error that IC6.1.5 does not support RHEL 6.0 as its patch does not exist in the following directory path "/IC615/share/patchData/Linux/i64". When we checked that path it only shows 4.0W and 5.0W for 64-bit and for the  "/IC615/share/patchData/Linux/i686* for 32-bit it showed only 4.0W folder placed inside.
