How to count the number of digital gates used on my virtuoso schematic?

I have used Cadence Virtuoso to compose a schematic which was made up of only standard digital gates from the foundry's libraries. Is there a tool that gives me the total number of gates appearing on my schematic? The schematic was composed in a hierarchical manner and I'd like to count the digital gates in all levels.

Can I also find out how many transistors are there on my schematic?

You could probably use code similar to Cadence Online Support Solution 11581916
It would need a bit of tweaking (because this is just to count leaf cells) but wouldn't be too hard to modify.
