"Shape information" utility in Virtuoso 6.1

Hello Cadence Community!

Our team is using IC6.1 for layout, so I have my first question in this forum.

In IC5.1 there was an option to display shape information in the corner of the screen.

Actually it got activated by going Options/Dispay and checking "Shape information"

checkbox. But somehow it disappeared in IC6.1.

Anybody knows if that option has been removed in 6.1 or moved to other place/menu?

This is a very useful thing so we would like to know usage in 6.1

Thanks!

Aram

    Hi Aram,

Well, the shape which is "highlighted" (i.e. the one which is about to be selected) is the one which is shown in the info balloon. It can show the layer name...

Alternatively you have (in VLS XL)  Windows->Assistants->Dynamic Selection - this will list all the shapes and objects that you are over in the pane, and you can then freeze your selection (there's a bindkey for this - Ctrl-H in the "standard" leBindKeysil) and pick the shapes yourself. Or you can use Right Mouse->(De)select under cursor->list of shapes and pick whichever you want. Also now selection is cyclic - so if you keep clicking, it will cycle through all the objects under the cursor.

    Does that help?

    Regards,

    Andrew.
