Flattening an imported GDS in Virtuoso

 Hi,

I've managed to import a GDS file in virtuoso to a new library, while referencing other libraries. In other words, the GDS file contains references to cells in other libraries, so I selected these reference libraries in the import options. Everything went well, except when I try to flatten the newly created layout, the cells won't flatten. I found a workaround where I copy the referenced cells from the needed libraries, to the newly created library to which the GDS was imported, and then perform a flatten operation, and all will work fine. But do I always have to copy these cells? A copy doesn't always work, many times it gives a 'conflicting technology' error. I appreciate any attempt to help. Thanks for reading.

Alright I got it to work. I had to attach the library created after the import to a certain technology library. The problem was that this library was created as a technology library, and I had to delete the tech.db file inside the library directory so that it becomes a design library, then attach it to the appropriate technology library. Thanks a lot for the reply, I really appreciate it.
