Layout: area of an instance

 Hi,

When I instance in layout a cell which I've previously laid out, and use the outline mode (i.e. Ctrl + f), I'd like to be able to control the size of the boxes that appear. The boundary doesn't seem to correspond to any of the boundary layers that you can draw but rather seems to be set simply as the minimal rectangle which contains everything drawn. The reason that I'd like to do this is that I've been designing cells where text that labels the inputs and outputs hangs off the edges of the actual layout (I don't know if this is against some unwritten rule, but to me it seems clearer. Is it possible to use one of the drawn boundaries to control the size of the cell for displaying and selecting it when it is instanced?

Thanks
