cadence 5 current simulation

StreamCX
StreamCX over 15 years ago

1) I try simulate in ADE.Cadence 5.
When I select currents to plot output before simulations I can simulate that and view results (currents in schematic).
When I try add some pins to view current output after simulation, appears evaluate error.

How can I do current analysis?

Can i change this params (type current to voltage in picture or inversely)?

2) I can see currents only in nodes,

How can i see that in wires?

Tarek - minor point - it might be a view other than schematic in the path, e.g. config - the best thing is to look at the path at the top of the window when you display or create the netlist from the Simulation->Netlist menu (particularly if this is an inexperienced user).

StreamCX. I'm highly confused, since earlier (in http://www.cadence.com/Community/forums/p/15756/62349.aspx#62349 ) you said that the settings in post 5 worked, and now you're saying they didn't. Also, there are a lot of "all" settings on that form, so we have no way of knowing what you've done.

Please post the input.scs as Tarek suggested.

From the kinds of questions you're asking, I think attending a training class would be worthwhile. Also, if you're concerned about revealing sensitive information in a public forum (I notice some screenshots you post have info scribbled out), then you really should report issues via Customer Support.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Thanks for pointing that out, Andrew. StreamCX - if you are still simulating the same cell as in the first post, input.scs would be located in /home/stream/simulation/ADC8/spectre/schematic/netlist. Otherwise if you would modify that path to reflect the new cell (currently ADC8) and, if necessary, cellview (currently schematic) to find input.scs.

    input.scs

Only when I select current outputs to save, I can plot them.

This is input.scs with current outputs selected to be saved.

So you posted the netlist in the case where you are working around your problem, rather than when you actually have the problem! Why do that? What does that tell us?

Assuming the settings were the same without having selected all the currents to save by selecting the terminals on the schematic, I think that what you need to do is:

    1. Set  "select device currents (currents)" to "all". This will then save currents on primitive devices
    2. Set "subcktprobelvl" to an appropriate number of hierarchy levels. In your case if you just want to save the currents in the top level instances (e.g. on the pins of the ESD, ESDD, AN1 instances), set it to 1.

By the way, there's no need to post your attachments on obscure file sharing sites that try to sell me premium services... you can attach them in this forum. Just go to the Options tab when you're posting or replying.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Andrew Beckett, Thanks.

I set subcktprobelvl" how you said me. All works.

Another question: What is ¨select AC terminals currents" in output/save all menu?

What the difference of this with ¨select devices currents¨?
