leHiMarkNet check if net is already marked

Hi, i like to add a bindkey for 1) marking a net. 2) If the net is already marked, it should remove the highlight and 3 if I call the bindkey again it should start at 1) How can I find out, whether the net is already marked. leHiMarkNet reports to the CIW, but there is no return value of the procedure, to evaluate step 2) Bye Erich

    Hi Erich,

As far as I know or can find out, there is no public SKILL API for finding the nets marked by Mark Net.  I could not find a private SKILL API either, I think that Mark Net is implemented at the C/C++ level for efficiency, so there may only be a very limited level of SKILL access to the functionality.  As such, I do not think it is possible to find if a net was marked by Mark Net.  However, you should be able to create bindkeys for calling leHiMarkNet() and leHiUnmarkNet(), but they would need to be different bindkeys.  I tried defining the unmark operation as the EF action for the same key as the mark operation, and this worked until I pressed "Escape" which quit out of both functions. E.g. I set "n" to be Mark Net, and "<Key>n EF" to be Unmark Net, pressing 'n' would allow me to mark a net, and 'n' again while Mark Net is active would switch to Unmark Net, but Esc drops out of both functions, rather than just the Unmark Net leaving Mark Net active.  But perhaps this annoyance is better than having two seperate bindkeys?

    You could look at probes?

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
