Assura LVS execution terminated

Hello,

I'm trying to run LVS with Assura for a ring oscillator. I set all the files and i click ok but it doesn't work and i don't know why. I've tried the same run about 2-3months ago and it has worked, but now i guess i'm missing an option or something like that. here is the log file. i guess it has something to do especially with the last warning cellview "name" doesn't exist in cds.lib or lib.defs.

If someone has encountered the same problem and has a solution, please help me with the needed information.

Have you run virtuoso with the same cds.lib file ( /home/mihai/cds.lib )? It seems Assura cannot find your testgp/ringosc/layout anywhere when using that set of libraries.
Also, you have many warnings showing that entries in the lib.defs file are already previously defined elsewhere. Why don't you comment them out of that file so you can have a cleaner output and make it easier to find the real issues?

i commented those entries in lib.defs, it says skipping skipping etc.
these are the last 3 warnings

what do you mean run virtuoso with the cds.lib file? the simulations on the schematic with ade work like before, also for this layout the assura drc works , so for the drc it finds the cellview i presume.

Hi All, You may try using only cds.lib and not lib.defs. Set following env variable: Unix% setenv DD_USE_LIBDEFS NO and then start the tool. Cheers, -Amit

Thanks for the files. You can use DD_USE_LIBDEFS shell variable as follows:

a. Use a text editor (e.g. vi, gvim, nedit, etc) to open up the hidden file .cshrc in /home/mihai

b. Add the following line:
setenv DD_USE_LIBDEFS NO

c. Save the file

d. Re-source the .cshrc file by entering the following in a terminal window:
terminal_window>source ~/.cshrc

e. Start Virtuoso

You can revert back to the old settings by simply commenting or removing the DD_USE_LIBDEFS line from the .cshrc file.

Alternatively, in the library manager, go to "Edit->Library Paths". In the form that appears, go to "File->Save As". Select both "lib.defs" and "cds.lib" to be saved. After saving the files, remove lib.defs file from the working directory. Hope that this can resolve your problem. There is no need to use lib.defs file. Only cds.lib file should be used.

problem solved.

i didn't have lib.defs in the working directory. once i've copied it there it worked.
