Cadence does not recognize technology file

Wonyoung
Wonyoung over 14 years ago

I created a library and I am trying to attach it to an existing technology library. The technology library shows up when I open the library manager. However, when I create a new library and select "attach to existing technology file", the technology library does not show up on the list. I am using Cadence 6.1.4. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Wonyoung

data.dm for a library stores the library properties as explained in COS solution 11449754. If you translate your IC5141 techlib using "ciw: Tools->Conversion Toolbox->CDB to OpenAccess Translator", you will automatically get tech.db converted from tech.cdb file. A non-zero byte size data.dm will be created only if the translated IC5141 library has a prop.xx file. This is the equivalent of data.dm file for IC5141. data.dm is not absolutely necessary for a techlib to work unless the pdk stores some critical library properties in it and references those properties in its scripts.
