Transistor Finger/Multiplier does not work

Hello!

When I edit the finger/multiplier property of a transistor in schematics(pressing q), it does not make a difference in the simulation.

For example, I tried to doubling the output current of a current mirror by increasing m from 1 to 2.  But the output current remains the same.  So I checked the netlist, it shows that the transistor still have m = 1 even though I edited the finger/multiplier to 2 in the schematics.

Here is my setup:

I am using Cadence virtuoso version 6.1.  And I converted the transistor technology file from the version 5 to version 6 using the conversion tool box.

Thanks,

    Hi Zlo1,

I suspect that the CDF parameter for m that you are setting on the instances is not in the output parameters (instParameters) for that device in its simInfo section for your simulator (spectre?).  Take a look under Tools -> CDF -> Edit  Since you mentioned a migration from an earlier version, perhaps the PDK or reference library for the devices changed, e.g. "m" in the older release is "mult" in the newer release.

    Hope this helps.

    Lawrence.
