Export DEF in IC61

Hi,

IC61 version 6.1.5.500.6

I am uisng  VXL

Guuys, I need some help to find out how can I define VDD,VSS as a special nets in exported DEF file in IC61?

Setting them as "power" and "ground" doesn't work.

Interesting thing is when I am routing them using Create Wire or from Navigator I don't get them SPECIAL, but when I route them by using Create->Shape->Geometrical Wire I DO GET THEM as SPECIAL.

The only differences I could find is my Create Wire net had Route Net Name = VDD,Geometrical Shape net had Net Name=VDD.

Did somebody have similar problem ? Does it  matter what routing strategy I am using and how in any case define SPECIAL net in IC61?

Many thanks,

Eduard Raines

     Hi Eduard,

Wires created with the Create->Wire command will be real route objects like the ones you get when routing with

digital P&R tools. So if you import such a design into an OA P&R tool, it can understand them and manipulate them.

Every other type of shape  (rect, polygon, path, geom wire..) will be a SPECIALNET in the the DEF and handled differently
    by the P&R tools.

So if you 'Convert to Polygon" your wire, you should see it as SPECIALNET" in your DEF.

Or you could use the "Compose/Decompose Trunk" function in the Edit->Wiring menu. You should read the help about that because
it is adding some more properties to the shape.

    Regards,

    Marc
