how to pass parameter to the model file(the parameterized model)

I have a model file that I intentionally place a few parameters. Those parameters will be set with a symbol associated with that model file. My quesiton is how to pass the parameters from symbol to the model files?

    To elaborate a little more, we have a device that is described by a Spectre subcircuit in an text file. We have created a symbol and a spectre view for this device (but no schematic view), we added a parameter "macro" with the CDF editor, assigned the subcircuit name to the parameter and added the subcircuit text file to the model search path. We use the ADE environment to start the simulation. The simulation of a test circuit that uses this symbol now runs correctly with the subcircuit model.

    Now we want to add a variable to the subcircuit text file that modifies its behavior for each instance of the symbol in the test circuit. How do we add the parameter to the symbol, such that it is passed on to the text file of the subcircuit model?
