VCAR V11.2.41.500.6.68 hanging-up on command "route 10"

Hi Experts,

Sorry if I am in the wrong forum but I'll ask my question anyway. I wanted to execute Top level routing using vcar but I think the execution stops while at route command "pass 1 0f 10" with no error messages so I am clueless what could be the reason for this.

Before this happened I had a successful run using the same setup and do files.

I hope someone here could have some thoughts on these or experienced the same thing before. many thanks in advance.

best regards,

lrlsk

    Hi Irlsk

If there are other available machines, would you please try the same routing on it? Are there are changes in OS patches, etc on your machine?

    Best regards

     Hi Quek,

what you said makes perfect sense. we have 6 remote machines dedicated for special tools and top level simulations so I was able to try out on three of them. The first to run the routing a bit more than an hour but on the third one it took only 15mins. So now I am sure that there was not a problem in my do file and constraint file. I am not sure what happened to my local machine because I have run routing on that before with even larger chip, the only thing that was done was changin the keyboard (before I was using Sun keyboard on Dell machine) so I changed the keyboard also to Dell.

Many thanks again for your insight, it helped me lot.

     BR, lrlsk

    Hi Irlsk

Thanks for the follow-up. Sometimes IT might have upgraded some system patches and hence caused the problem. Perhaps you can run "checkSysConf" cmd on the machines to compare the patch numbers.

    Best regards
