Memory fault Assura RCX

Hi all,

I have some trouble with parameter extraction with assura RCX. When I run the RCX in Assura ( after the LVS ), the parameter extraction fails with this error :

/home/stefano/Project/TSMC_Projects/Dice/run_assura_lvs/FF_DICE/rcx.sh: line 695: 11121: Memory fault

sh: line 1:  8232 Segmentation fault      /home/stefano/Project/TSMC_Projects/Dice/run_assura_lvs/FF_DICE/rcx.sh 2>&1

*WARNING* Bad return status from RCX run. 0x8b00

I have this in syslog :

pax16[11121]: segfault at 0000000000000000 rip 0000000008098e38 rsp 00000000ffd0b830 error 4

Can anyone help me ? Thanks in advice for any reply.

Best Regards

Stefano.

    Hi Stefano

It looks like you are still using the out-dated RCX instead of QRC for parasitic extraction. The memory fault can most likely because resolved if you switch to QRC. Would you please give it a try? Please download PVE 11.1.2 package from the downloads website.

    Hi Stefano,

I had had the same problem last week, however with a different PDK.

In my case I tried to extract a complete chip, including pads. As it

turned out I had to preserve the pad cells during the assura and the qrc run.

Maybe you have  a somehow compareable problem in your design

    Best Regards

    Andi

I don't have any problem with the layout because I have already extracted the same layout on a different PC. I think that it is an installation problem. I remember that when I was able to extract, the extraction was made by QRC and no RCX.. My pc don't have the QRC extraction, that's the problem. Best Regards Stefano

    Hi all,

I've installed the QRC ( EXT101 ) and now it works. Thanks to everyone.

    Best Regards
