DRC error about laser fuses

Hi,

In layout, I drew a shape on layer DV (passivation opening) from technology IBM7RF. The assura DRC reports an error said: "Laser fuses found. Laser fuses are not offered." This rule is not listed in the documents. So I am wondering if this error is critical to the fabrication? Thanks.

    Hi bjbit

I am afraid that you will have to direct this question to IBM customer support as this is a foundry issue, not tool issue. : )  If the error says that laser fuses are not supported, then you should not draw on DV layer. Your layout would fail the foundry drc check and be rejected.

There is also a possibility that the process actually allows DV layers but the assura rules have not been updated to reflect the support.

    Best regards

    Hi Quek,

Thanks for your reply. It looks strange if DV is not supported but its rules and regarding descriptions are in the tech docs. Hopefully it is the update issue you mentioned. I will ask MOSIS for a clarification.

    Best regards,
