automatically run a routine when a menu item is invoked from CIW or schematic window

Hi,

Is it possible to use triggers to automatically run a skill function when a user invokes another skill function from a custom drop down menu.

I can do it hard way by modifying each custom function and adding the piece of code but was wandering if there is any auto trigger I can use to do this whenever someone use those functions. I looked into deRegUserTrigger but it works with 'viewType' (schematic, maskLayout etc) I want something similar for drop down menu items (which are also skill functions developed in house).

Thanks !

    There's no trigger as such, but you could easily modify the menu callbacks. For example:

    procedure(CCFdoMyThing()
      printf("Doing my thing...\n")
    )

    pulldownMenu=ciwOptionsMenu
    let((callback)
     foreach(menuItem hiGetMenuItems(pulldownMenu)
      callback=get(pulldownMenu menuItem)->_itemCallback
      when(stringp(callback)
        hiSetMenuItemCallback(pulldownMenu menuItem strcat("CCFdoMyThing() " callback))
      )
     )
    )

    Regards,

    Andrew.
