Virtuoso layout (Connectivity-> Mark Net highlights some faraway wires)

Hi,

I like to use the mark net feature to trace my wiring and make life simpler while routing things in the layout.

Now, I am seeing something pretty weird. When I try to mark a net, then nothing seems to happen in many many cases. If I now zoom out completely, then I see that some completely different wire in a totally different part of the layout has been highlighted. There is no mutual connection between the net I am trying to mark and the one that actually got marked, neither is there any wire hidden below the one I am attempting to mark.

People tell me that they have had this problem fairly often in older versions of Cadence. I am using:

Virtuoso IC6.1.5-64b.500.8

I was also told that this might happen when doing "edit in place" but I am not doing that.

I tried closing all open data and restarting my cadence icfb session but to no avail.

Could someone tell me what the source of the problem might be, and a solution to it?

Thanks,
Vivek

    Vivek,

I've not seen this, and not searched to see if it has been reported before, but I would suggest that you contact customer support.

    Regards,
