Run Virtuoso 64bit

Paludo
Paludo over 11 years ago

I'm trying to run virtuoso 64bit, and I have experience some problems. The most common one is

Error while loading shared libraries (libGLU.so.1)

I tryed to get the software version but didn't have much luck.

Getting this error...

virtuoso -W

/usr/edatools/cadence/IC616/tools.lnx86/dfII/bin/64bit/virtuoso: error while loading shared libraries: libXp.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If you search foir libXp.so.6 in the community search (in these forums) you'll find a few posts. You didn't mention the OS distribution you're using, but on my RHEL6.1 machine it's from:

    RHEL61> rpm -q -f /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6
    libXp-1.0.0-15.1.el6.x86_64

    and on an RHEL5.8 machine:

    RHEL58> rpm -q -f /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6
    libXp-1.0.0-8.1.el5.x86_64

I think checkSysConf probably picks this missing rpm up too. You might have the 32-bit version installed, but not the 64-bit rpm.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    I'm using Scientific Linux 6.0.

    Is there any compatibility problem?

Well, that's not a supported OS, but the issue is simply that you don't have a package installed. You can probably install this using rpm or yum or whatever is the normal package manager used on that OS distro. Essentially you need the 64-bit libXp package.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Could be a problem with my sh script. Accually I mount a folder from a server in my PC.

After that I have to run a series of scripts to get things set properly. The package is the lastest version IC616.

My install directory is /usr/edatools/cadence/ where is all the tools, such as IC616, INCISIV132.

I followed a Guide "Virtuoso Software Licensing and Configuration User Guide" but didn't seems to help very much.

Don't think that's likely. The key question is whether /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6 exists on your machine.

That's because you're missing the 32 bit libXi package (files should be in /usr/lib/libXi.so.6). The library manager and library select are 32-bit executables (even when you run in 64 bit mode, because they don't need high capacity).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, I don't remember. However, you can pretty much get it correctly set by using this tutorial,

    vlsi.die.upm.es/cadence_ubuntu

even though is not target at RedHat like distros. Remember to get the correct name of the packages.
You can use "yum search" and "yum provides" to determine the required ones.

    Best.
