PCELL: Specifying instance name in design

 Hi friends,

          I have created a pcell for a Mosfet using PCELL menu in virtuoso layout suite L. To specify the instance name in my design i have placed a label [@instanceName] at the middle of my pcell and also, for specifying Source and Drain terminal i have placed a label S and D at the middle of source and drain metal in my pcell. When i instancing my pcell in my design i cannot see my instance name(Ex:I0,I1). It looks only as [@instanceName]. And also S and D label is not at the middle of my design. Here I have attached screenshots of  my pcell and my design using that pcell. Please help me on this. And also help me how to place Mosfet name in my design and its length/width.(Ex:pch 0.4/0.14)

Note:

          I am using  Pcell menu in virtuoso layout suite L not using skills.

          version:IC6.1.5

Regards,

Karthik

    For the instanceName label, create the label, select it, and then in the CIW type:

    car(geGetSelSet())~>labelType="NLPLabel"

    As to how to make the S/D labels centred - that's hard - I'm not sure how to do this with the graphical pcell editor (which is pretty old and has not been developed in some time as we would strongly encourage you to write the pcell in SKILL; this will result in a more powerful and better performing pcell).

    To place an instance, you can use dbCreateParamInstByMasterName(). Or from the UI just use create instance - not really sure why you're asking this?

    Andrew.
