ADEXL 1921 error with IC616 on Debian

I am getting ADEXL1921 error (image attached) when I try to start Monte Carlo(or any other simulation on ADEXL) on IC6.16. I know Debian isn't officially supported, but would appreciate any help if others have figured it out. I saw some related posts and tried those things, but didn't work.

(OS: Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.8 (squeeze) 2.6.32-5-amd64; Sub version:         sub-version  IC6.1.6.500.1  (32-bit addresses) )

==============

Running "runICRP*" manually didn't do anything (didn't produce any output on the command line). I removed the >/dev/null from the last line and tried and it made no difference. Also tried running it line by line. Not sure what running cdsVncserver should do, but again, nothing (apparent) happened. I also went through the links below which mentioned the same problem.

This suggests that libgdbm.so maybe missing, but in my case it is present in /usr/lib as well as linked to in IC616 hierarchy

Using no cdsinit didn't change things. Also, the job monitor shows nothing.

This mentions that the Xndx related problem is only relevant for IC613 or earlier

    The problem is also related with the host name definition file /etc/hosts

    You might try to check the definitions related with the localhost
