Text view in read-only mode

Eric L14
Eric L14 over 11 years ago

Hi All,

I have created a text view.

In edit mode, my current editor (nedit) is used. But in read-only mode this is not the case, it is Cadence viewer.

What to do in order to view in read-only mode or a read-only file in nedit ?

Regards

Eric

    Eric,

There isn't a generic way to replace the viewer with a text editor (even in readonly mode) because some cases have additional functionality built around the file viewer which then wouldn't work if it was replaced by an editor.

There is support for "HDL" text views. See this solution.

There are also enhancement requests for various other cases - if you want this, you should contact customer support about the particular scenario you'd like to be able to use an editor for.

    Andrew.
