The Rapid Adoption Kits on Cadence Online Support are probably your best bet. These can be found under Resources (at the top), then Rapid Adoption Kits, then Virtuoso Custom IC and Sign-off flow. A shortcut is:

    http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:DocumentViewer;src=wp;q=ProductInformation/Custom_IC_Design/ApplicationPackages/CIC_RAK_Home.htm

There a number of relevant RAKs, but two good points to look at would be:

    • Layout Design in IC 6.1.6
    • Introduction to Connectivity-Driven Design in VLS XL

There are quite a few other layout automation RAKs too - but start with these.

If you are at a University, you should be able to get access either via your University program coordinator, or through Europractice (if you're a university using the Europractice scheme).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
