Specify custom tool instead of default viewer for log files

Hi,

Is it possible to specify which program to use for viewing logs etc.? I know about the "editor" setting, but this does not apply do read-only files like logfiles. I found a thread from 2010 (http://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/38/t/17335) and wanted to ask if there where any changes since then.

My primary reason is that the builtin viewer is much less capable in terms of search/highlighting, configuring linebreaks etc. then e.g. gvim (which is quite ok, virtuoso does not need to be a competent text editor, but it would be nice to specify an alternative)

Best Regards,

Andreas

    Hi Andrew,

Ok, good to know, I'll have a look at that.

Regarding the editor features: It's not so much the "lacking" features as simple the difference between all the tools which is the reason I try to stick with not that many different types of text editors/viewers.

    Regards,
    Andreas
