Problem when invoking the "Display Resource Editor" for Layout Editor

Hello,

I have a problem with the "Display Resource Editor", when I try to open it using CIW -> Tools -> Display resource manager -> Edit, nothing is appearing.

The merge command works correctly and shows the dialog box, but in case of "Edit" it seems that the button is not responding to anything (as if it doesn't exist), nor the CIW is showing any message or error message. I tried to invoke it from the LSW (Edit Display resources...) but still not working.

In the worst case I hope that there is a function to call it directly, because in the Cadence help I found just the techManagerOpenDisplayToolBox() command.

Thank you.

    Hi Ayoub Lafrigui

    The cmd to invoke display resource editor is as follows:

    dreInvokeDre()

    In general, you can find out the corresponding SKILL cmd for an interactive action as follows:
    a. In CIW, go to "Options->Log filter" and enable all options
    b. Execute the target interactive action
    c. The corresponding SKILL cmd will be displayed in CIW

    When posting an issue, it would really be great if you can also include the specific version of Virtuoso which you are using:

    terminal>virtuoso -W

    E.g. you might be using IC616.500.2 but the bug which you are experiencing might have just been fixed on IC616-500-3. If you provide the specific version info, we can check if it is a bug case.

    Please kindly review the forum guidelines for more rules on posting in CIC forum.

    Hi Quek,

    Thank you very much for your reply, the version of cadence I'm using is IC6.1.5.500.15, but even if I try this command (dreInvokeDre()), I got just this in the CIW terminal:

    dreInvokeDre()

    t

    Or when I try to invoke it from the tools it gives the following in the CIW terminal:

    _dreInvokeDre("")

    t

    but nothing is working.

    Please do you have any other solution or any one have seen this post can share knowledge?

    And thank you too for the forum guide lines, I didn't know such things before.

    Best regards,

    Ayoub

    Ayoub,

    I did a bit of searching and can't find anything like this. Sounds strange to me. I suggest you contact customer support so that we can do some debugging with you to try to understand the problem better.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi all,

    Thanks Andrew for your reply, I found an other solution is to change directly the colours from the display.drf file. Or creating a new colour with RGB code and affected to the wanted layer entry.

    I think this problem is related to some update to the system that I've not done yet.

    Thank you all for your time.

    Hi Ayoub

    Actually I think the problem is really too strange and might be due to a bad installation. It would be good if you can re-install Virtuoso package.

    Best regards
