Sublibraries in Cadence VIrtuoso

Hi everyone,

I just want to create a library inside another one using library manager. I can't use categories because my cells share names with cells from other libraries.

Thanks!

This is not supported in OpenAccess, the underlying database for Virtuoso. The categories are used to organize the cells within a single library so you can have shared named cells in multiple libraries, each library would have its own set of categories. When you place an instance, the instance header specifies the library, cell and view for the master so there is no conflict.

You can create multiple libraries in the same directory and use the ASSIGN statement in the cds.lib file to make them appear as a single library in the library manager.
