Hi all,

Is it possible to import a picture (logo) to  Virtuoso schematic Editor ?

Richard

First of all you need to ensure you have an "xpm" (X PixMap) file with a small number of colours in it - you really don't want to try to import some high-colour file because you'll be there forever mapping the colours! So use an image processing tool (such as gimp) to manipulate the colours in your original logo and ensure it's saved as an xpm file.

Then take the code in the post I referred to and save it in a  file called "abXpmToLayout.ils" (make sure it has a .ils suffix, although from looking at my code, it doesn't appear to be essential to have a .ils suffix). In the CIW, type:

    load("abXpmToLayout.ils")

and then open the symbol that you want to add the logo in, and run:

    abXpmToLayout()

You can then browse to your xpm file, map the colours on the form, and then place the shapes from the logo in your symbol.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

I know this is quite an old post, but I have a doubt with the way your script works.

I have added an XPM file to a symbol view and it generated everything correctly. However, I would like to hide some lines that appear there, made um of characters.
Each figure seems to be a group of smaller groups of objects. So if I want to remove a line, I can't since it will delete the full group.

For example, the label "out" is shown as:

    ' ' '
    ' ' '

    ' ' '

    '  ' '

    out

Is there a way to delete/hide these vertical lines/characters ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards,

    Pedro

    Pedro,

I don't really understand what you're saying. It might be easier if I contact you directly and deal with this as a support case - I think you're based the UK - is that correct? If so, I've found you in our support system and I can contact you directly.

    Andrew.
