Monte Carlo simulation error

vinod joshi
vinod joshi over 9 years ago

During MC simulation in ADEXL window, we found a pop up window with the following error messages after 10 min, while the 6T SRAM cell was run for 100ns for 2 samples. Please help in this matter.

Error message

ADEXL-1921: failed to start new job after 3 attempts . Possible reasons could be

1. The macnie selected in the current job set up policy is not reachable

2. The cadence hierarchcy is not detectedd, not installed properly, or not compatible on the machine selected in the current job set up policy.

3. Job start script /home/student/chetna/.temp_student/.cmddir0/runICPR3 is not found in the remote machine.

Do you want to retry with the current set up? Selecting no will abort the current session.

Not really enough information to go on, I'm afraid. The best approach would be to go via customer support (or your normal support channel, e.g. Europractice) because there are several things it could be. However, we'd need to know at least:

    • Which subversion of the IC tools are you using (Help->About in the CIW will tell you this)?
    • Which subversion of spectre are you using? (this should appear at the top of the spectre log file, but also you can get it by typing "spectre -W" in a UNIX window)
    • Does this work when doing single run sweeps and corners?
    • What do you have in your job policy? (Options->Job Setup in ADE XL).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Dear Andrew,

Thanks for your prompt response. For your kind information i have append the following information,

    1. IC 6.1.6.500.1

    2. 12.1.0.402.isr5

    3. No, it does not work with single run sweeps and corners.

    4. ADE XL default

But for your kind information i would like to tell you that it is working using .OCN script.

    Waiting for your response,

    Regards,

    Vinod

What happens if you run "virtuoso -nograph" ?

Also, I still think going to customer support is your best option here. Hopefully you've done that in the meantime rather than waiting for a reply here.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Again thanks for your response.
The following message displays on the terminal window when we try to run “virtuoso –nograph”

OK, cdsPerl is a 64-bit executable. My guess is that this can't run because you're running on a 32-bit OS (which is not supported - we have not supported 32-bit OS for several years now). Can you post what you get from running:

    uname -a

    in the terminal window?

    Thanks,

    Andrew.
