ADE XL - Save Netlist in different location from results

Hi,

I take it from here that one can set some environment variables to indicate where he/she wants to save the 3 basic types of ADE XL data.

Following the information in the link, it looks to me as if netlists are tied to the same directory where waveforms (.PSF and the like) reside.

Is it possible to change this behaviour, and specify two different places for results and netlists?

Reason: the drive space where my sim results reside is periodically wiped-off. This is OK to some extent, but I woud like to at least keep information of the exact netlist that was simulated ad which point in time.

Thanks,

Michele

    Hi Frank

yes, I can imagine. Actually, after a period of settlement, I was fairly happy with the History mechanism, although as you say it doesn't tell you straight away your setup.

The game changer for me was the fact that my Company stores simulation results in a NO_BACKUP area and those get wiped off with no further notice.

I lost quite a bit of stuff thanks to this.

Plus, the *.rdb files are stored elsewhere (basically with the cell view) and they don't get erased...

I'm no coder but I hammered together a few functions and now I save the netlist, the oceanscript and the results in a "safe harbour" together with timestamp and the like.

That's not elegant but is working fine for me.

    Cheers!
