customizing ViVA result browser traces default settings

Hi,

when the result browsre opens after a Simulation, all traces are "combined" in one graph.

I would like to change the default settings, so that the traces are shown as "split strips" automatically.

I found a solution in the forum thread "customize viva Strip", but this does not work in my case, and I do not know why.

I tried both, the .cdsinit and .ecdenv commands.

I am using virtuoso 6.1.7.500.14.

Any idea ?

    Update:

the .cdsinit command is working (after correcting a typo in the command)

But the .cdsenv command is not working.

If it works in the .cdsinit via an envSetVal call, it should work in a .cdsenv file (assuming you've got the syntax right). You didn't say what you were putting in your .cdsenv so can't comment on the correctness of what you've done.

Also, by default the .cdsenv file is looked for in your home directory and not in the working directory. Where have you placed the .cdsenv file?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I added the following line to the .cdsenv:

    viva.rectGraph stripChartOn string "true"

The .cdsenv is not located in my ~ Folder because I redefined the searchpath in "setup.loc" to my workarea via $CDS_WORKAREA.

In the workarea there is the "csfLookupConfig", that defines to search for .cdsinit, .cdsenv and display.drf in the $CDS_WORKAREA folder.

    This mechanism works fine.

    Update:

Itwas working with the ".cdsenv" entry as well, but the testing I performed was misleading.

When I start a new virtuoso session and the result browser opens automatically it opens with the Settings of the last sessions.

I expected the result browser to open with the Settings given by .cdsenv.

When the result browser is closed and openend again, then the Settings of the .cdsenv are applied.

Problem solved, entries in ".cdsenv" are correct, testing was wrong !
