Hello,

I  have the GDS file of the layout. Is their any way to get the LEF file of the design through command line or script?

Yes, this can be done with the Abstract Generator (the tool is called "abstract"). It can be run both interactively and in batch mode once you've set up how you need to recognise the pins and extract connectivity etc. There is a Rapid Adoption Kit on Cadence Online Support for this: Abstract Generator

I can't do that. For a couple of reasons:

    1. Our rapid adoption kits need a "click through" license agreement where you acknowledge the limitations on how you're allowed to use it
    2. It's too big to post here

The documentation on abstract generator is included in the Help in Virtuoso - you should be able to find the manual from cdnshelp.

Also, to log into the support site, you need to register first - using your login from the community forums is not sufficient. If you're from an academic institution, then you may need to go via your nominated professor, or if in Europe and using Europractice you may need to contact them for help with signing up. For maintained customers though, you typically just need the hostid of your license server to register on support.cadence.com

    Regards,

    Andrew.
