How to load bare virtuoso?

Hi Everyone

I remember there is an option during the virtuoso launching to skip loading the in-house wrapper and content inside the .cdsinit* files.

Besides, it's also possible to skip loading such content when launching ADEXL simulations with icrp.

Can someone remind me about such setup?

Many thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Yi

Are you looking for 'virtuoso -nocdsinit'?

    Hi Saloni

Thanks for your reply. It's the answer for my first question.

With this option, it's much faster to launch the Virtuoso.

I have tried to run ADEXL simulation under 'virtuoso -nocdsinit'.

Unfortunately, it does not affect the icrp process. As in the Job log file, I can still see:

"\o >> Loading settings from file .cdsinit in your home directory.<<"

I remember I received an environment variable from Cadence AE to control this. Unfortunately, I cannot access my mail box after changing the job.

Do you have any hint about it?

    Best Regards

    Yi

    Hi Yi,

This is the .cdsenv (suggest you put it in your home dir):

    adexl.icrpStartup binaryName string "virtuoso -nocdsinit"

I won't suggest the envSetVal equivalent because if you're not loading your .cdsinit then it won't get loaded!

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew

    Thank you for the reply.

You are absolutely right, if I put it in my .cdsinit, then I must load my .cdsinit to make it effective.

Most of the case, I will just type in the envSetVal(...) command directly in the CIW.

Then I am kind of bring my Virtuoso in a debug mode, where ADEXL launching the simulation much faster.

I have also been warned by Kai Schiller that when using this setting it may cause some simulation issue, if the model file is kind of processed by the in-house wrapper.

I will use this setup with caution.

    Best Regards

    Yi
