edit schematic annotation will freeze the whole cadence session until I xkill it

I am using Cadence Virtuoso IC6.1.7-64b.500.21 with ADE-L.

I find it in multiple cases that when I open view->annotations->Setup and try to add more DC Operating Points, the whole cadence session will be freezon. I come back the next morning, it is still hanging there. I have to kill it. Is this a bug?

I know there were some issues with annotation caching in some of the IC617 ISRs which were improved in ISR23. So please check with 6.1.7.500.23 and if it's still there in ISR23, please contact customer support.

I'm not sure it's necessarily going to resolve what you're seeing, but please check the latest hotfix version first.

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew

still very slow. I type in the value, wait for 30 seconds to have the annotation window to response. Current version is IC6.1.7-64b.500.23. Once the annotation window is responding, the rest of Cadence windows are all hanging.

In that case you really need to contact customer support as I advised above. Initially you said it worked, so presumably something is different (maybe the circuit is a lot bigger, or you're running post-layout)?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

It's very simple schematic only circuit for current mirror. The annotation feature works a while and then freezes. I don't know when it will freeze or start to hang. There is no post-layout or more complex circuit involved. Maybe I have too many adel and adexl windows opened?

No idea - that's why I'm suggesting contacting support as then we (Cadence, not necessarily me) can look at it together and run some diagnostic tests potentially.

    Andrew.
